- NCVET TRADES: ELECTRONICS MECHANIC, ELECTRICIAN & MACHINIST.
Candidates are prepared for the All India Trade Test (AITT) conducted by the National Council for Vocational Education & Training (NCVET), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India.
1. MACHINIST
Criteria for Admission
Passed class X, with Mathematics, Science & English.
Duration: 2 years (Aug- July)
Age: 18 - 22 years.
The Machinist Course trains the candidate to skillfully work on various precision machine tools used in the Machine Shop. He is conversant in the subjects of Trade Theory, Workshop Calculations, and Science related especially to this trade, Engineering Drawing (Blue Print reading of Orthographic and Isometric views according to specifications), and Workshop Practical.
After successful completion of this course, the trainee shall be able to perform the following skills in proper sequence:
- The trainees work as semi-skilled workers in industry.
- The trainees can work as basic fitters, operate and perform various operations, drilling, shaping, slotting, planing,lathinge, milling, and grinding.
- The trainees can be able to do simple programming & operate a CNC machine.
- Knowledge of technical English terms used in industry.
The student also gets to learn to do jobs coming from different companies with a high degree of accuracy.
Employment opportunities:
On successful completion of this course, the trainees shall be gainfully employed in the following industries:
- Production & manufacturing industries.
- Service industries like road transportation and railways.
- Shipbuilding and repair
- Infrastructure and defense organizations
- In public sector industries such as BHEL, BEML, and NTPC, as well as private industries in India & abroad.

- Upon successful completion of the course, trainees can pursue apprenticeship training in reputable industries or organizations.
- On successful completion of the course, trainees can opt for a diploma course (Lateral entry).
- On successful completion of the course, trainees can opt for the CITS course.
2. ELECTRICIAN
Criteria for Admission
Passed class X, with Mathematics, Science & English.
Duration: 2 years (Aug- July)
Age: 18 - 22 years.
The Electrician course trains the candidates to install, maintain, and repair electrical machinery, equipment, and fittings in factories, workshops power powerhouses, businesses, and residential premises, etc. He studies drawings and other specifications to determine electrical circuits, installation details, etc. This course also helps him to position and install electrical motors, transformers, switchgears, switchboards, microphones, loudspeakers, and other electrical equipment, fittings, and lighting fixtures. He learns to make connections and solder terminals. He tests electrical installations and equipment and locates faults using a megger, test lamps, etc.
After successful completion of this course, the trainee shall be able to perform the following skills in the proper sequence.
- Carry out installation, maintenance & repair works of electrical AC, DC, machinery, lighting circuits, domestic appliances, and equipment used in domestic and industrial.
- Read and interpret the blueprint reading (Electrical layout Drawing as per BIS specification and standards)
- Carry out domestic and industrial wiring and earthing systems.
- Test electrical wiring installation, locate and rectify the faults by using a megger and an earth tester.
- Make and solder the wire joints, wires on the PCB, and use the desoldering technique.
- Use of electrical instruments (analog/digital) like voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, energymeter, wheatstone bridge, oscilloscope, earth tester, tong tester, etc., to measure various electrical quantities.
- Armature winding, single and three-phase motor winding, and small transformer winding.
- Operate, maintain, and test the switch gears, circuit breakers, relays, and transformers.
- Identify and maintain the power generating stations (conventional and non-conventional), transmission, and distribution system protective devices.
- Construct and test semiconductor devices.
- Practice using fitting carpentry and sheet metal tools.
- Carried out breakdown, overhauling routine & preventive maintenance of electrical machines and equipment.

3. ELECTRONICS MECHANIC

The Electronics Mechanic Course trains the candidate to work skilfully in the industry. He is conversant in the subjects of Trade Theory, Workshop Calculations & Science, especially related to his trade, Engineering Drawing (Circuit Diagrams, Component Layout, Test Points, etc.), and Workshop Practical.
After successful completion of this course, the trainee shall be able to perform the following skills in proper sequence.
- Identify various active and passive components and their applications.
- Handle different types of electronic measuring instruments
- Identify different types of faults in electronics equipment.
- Repair & maintenance of computer hardware & networking
- Repair and maintenance of SMPS, UPS, inverter, solar power system, and various analog and digital circuits.
- Repair and maintenance of electronic communication equipment and fiber optics.
- Installation of various transducers, sensors.
- Repair and maintenance of microcontroller-based systems.
- Repair, maintenance& installation of LED/ LCD TV, cell phone (Mobile).
Employment Opportunities:
On successful completion of this course, the trainees shall be fully employed in the following industries:
- Various electronics equipment manufacturing industries.

Passed class X, with Mathematics, Science & English. Duration: 2 Years (Aug-July)
Age: 18-22 years.
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Criteria for admission: Passed Class X, with Mathematics, Science & English, and NCVT (any mechanical stream of 4 Semester duration). Secured 60% in the Semester.
Duration: 1 year (Aug- July)
Age: 18-22 years
ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION TECHNICIAN
Criteria for admission:
Passed Class X, with Mathematics, Science & English, and NCVT (any Electronics stream of 4 Semester duration). Secured 60% in the Semester.
Duration: 1 year (Aug- July)
Age: 18-22 years
